One thing I’d do in Stanmore

My pick

Walk the grand Victorian streets around Stanmore Road. It is one of the best heritage-house walks in the Inner West. Then eat at Sixpenny.

Sixpenny is at 83 Percival Road. On a budget, go 140 metres up the road to Bar Lira at 124 Percival Road, the Sixpenny team’s 28-seat wine bar for wine, snacks, small plates and gelato, which was set to open in October 2026. Earlier in the day, get coffee and something sweet at Ard, a vegan bakery in an old battery shop at 2A Stafford Street.
